Gaz-System is a state-owned company responsible for the transmission of natural gas in Poland. In addition to the Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) Terminal they operate in Świnoujście, Gaz-System is also developing a new LNG Terminal off the coast of Gdańsk with a regasification capacity up to 6.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas for consumers annually.

Gaz-System is chartering the FSRU from White Eagle Energy, a subsidiary of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL). The vessel has been ordered from the world’s largest shipbuilding company, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI). Once constructed, the vessel shall be moored in Gdańsk to a new jetty, which will be connected to an approximately 3 km offshore gas pipeline. In addition to that, Gaz-System is also constructing an approximately 250 km onshore gas pipeline which will help to provide natural gas after regasification to customers in Poland and abroad.

The overall FSRU program is expected to conclude in 2028.

Hill International was selected in June 2025 to provide supervision services for the FSRU construction process, which has started in HD HHI’s shipyard in Ulsan and will continue until 2027.
