Hill provided project management services for the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), the largest museum in Egypt and the world’s largest museum dedicated to a single civilization. The museum covers 3,500 years of ancient Egyptian history and houses more than 25,000 artifacts. The GEM’s collection includes some of the most ancient treasures of humanity. Located 2 km from the Giza Pyramids and adjacent to the Giza Plateau (one of UNESCO’s Cultural Heritage Sites), the GEM project comprised the delivery of a museum, a conference center, Menkaure’s Wall and other retaining structures, auxiliary buildings such as restaurants, car and bus parking, exhibition works, and an extensive external works package. The site spans more than 116 acres with a built-up area of approximately 168,000 SM, including the museum building (93,000 SM), conference center (40,000 SM), restaurants (6,000 SM), parking (15,000 SM), and more.

The building is shaped like a chamfered triangle, with its north and south walls aligning with the Great Pyramid of Khufu and the Pyramid of Menkaure. The museum building is fronted by a large plaza, filled with date palms. A translucent alabaster wall serves as a façade. Inside the main entrance is a large atrium featuring monumental statues.
